How is the Sale Conducted?

It is conducted just like an ordinary sale only the livestock are not on the premises. Most of the sales will be physically held at the Billings LiveStock Commission Co. in Billings where television monitors will be set up for viewing the livestock. Buyers will be able to bid both from the seats or by calling into a bank of telephones manned to take the call-in bids "live" with the video broadcast. These are fast-paced auctions with nationwide bidding. Back to Top.

How do I register as a buyer?

All Buyers must have a permanent NLVA "Buyer's Number" to participate in the video sale. (Buyer numbers issued prior to 2004 will not work with these auctions.) To get your new NLVA "Buyer's Number," call Billings Livestock at 1-866-616-5035 prior to sale day. You will be required to provide us your banking information and credit information which will be confirmed through your bank before a Buyer's Number is issued. Your NLVA Buyer's Number will be a "permanent" number for you to keep and use at upcoming NLVA sales. Buyer's Numbers may be used to bid on sale day either a) at primary physical location--usually Billings Livestock; or b) by telephone. To bid online you need to register with CattleUSA.com. Click here to download Instructions. See below for more information. Back to Top.

How do I watch the sale on satellite?
